Physical Medicine Physical Medicine is about promoting
the natural healing of our bodies from injuries under the direction of our licensed Doctor of Chiropractic, Terry D. Williams, D.C. and Lance Groves, D.C. Their leadership and patient teaching abilities are excellent, and reflect the Enviva philosophy of making health care a customer service industry. Hours for Physical Medicine are also 8:00 am until 5:00 pm, Monday through
Friday. There is no closure during the lunch hours. In the Physical Medicine Department, as well as in all departments at Enviva, everyone is treated with the utmost of kindness, dignity and respect.
Our
experienced staff utilizes a wide array of the most advanced techniques to facilitate the healing process. In addition to hands-on therapies, they may employ ultrasound, electric stimulation, MET and portable TENS therapy. The goal is to provide a safe effective way to relax muscles and soft tissues, and relieve pains in joints and tendons. Working with the latest
equipment and techniques, patients receive personalized, professional care, which helps strengthen and tone muscles to help prevent recurrent injuries.
Benefits of Physical Medicine include:
-
Increased circulation- Chronic tension produces chronic tightness in the musculature. The result is a built-up of waste and toxic byproducts of cellular activity within the muscle.
-
Relaxation- Manipulation of stressed areas of the body react by releasing endorphins, calming the nervous system and allowing the muscles to relax.
-
Body awareness enhancement- The reconnection of your mind with your body is an intricate part of massage therapy by directing attention to areas of the body the client cannot visually be in contact with, such as the back.
